Christopher Hancock

Professor Christopher Hancock is the Founding Director of Oxford House Research Ltd (www.oxfordhouseresearch.com). Historically a theologian, who taught at Cambridge University and in the USA, his work has focused in the last twenty years on culture, ethics, and religion in contemporary geopolitics. As an Asia specialist, he was Dean of Bradford Cathedral and helped launch the new China Centre at King’s College, London, when a member of the faculty there. Professor Hancock has taught extensively in China and in colleges and universities around the world. He has been in the recent past a Visiting Professor at the South Asia Institute for Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS) in Bangalore, India and is currently an Honorary Professor at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham and a Distinguished Professor at Woxsen University, Hyderabad, India. In addition to articles and essays in other publications, Professor Hancock’s work includes Robert Morrison and the Birth of Chinese Protestantism (Bloomsbury/T&T Clark, 2008) and Christianity and Confucianism: Culture, Faith and Politics (Bloomsbury/T&T Clark, 2020; paperback 2022).
